The distillery "Les fils d'Emile Pernot" was Founded in 1890 by Emile Pernot in Pontarlier, the birthplace of absinthe. When, after 25 years of absinthe production, the "green fairy" was banned in 1915 became, one reorientated oneself and began to use anise, fir, gentian and to burn berry schnapps.
