The great-grandson of the company founder wanted to wake the old Viennese family business from its slumber and breathe new life into it. After graduating from the French Lyceum, he traveled the world as a tour guide and in 1987 founded travel agencies for celebrities from the arts and business.
At his instigation, the family decided to have the business renovated and to provide public tours with an insight into the tradition of distillery craftsmanship. Since the autumn of 1990, the office and factory premises have gleamed in the old splendor of the Imperial Era and the brandies and liqueurs from the Old Vienna Schnaps Museum, which are made according to tried and tested recipes that have been handed down, continue to enjoy great popularity. They have been awarded the Wien Products trademark and father & son are now trying to market them worldwide.
Together with his father Gerhard, Gerald Fischer guides around 25,000 guests from all over the world through the historic rooms.
