Roquette 1797 is a very complex, unusually spicy absinthe whose recipe dates back to the 18th century. It represents the first attempt to reproduce an absinthe from the time when absinthe was first mentioned in history. Roquette 1797 contains the classic 3 herbs wormwood, aniseed and fennel and some other herbs that are certainly not found in any other commercial absinthe. Roquette is produced on behalf of the Pernot distillery in Pontarlier.
