This Rum Agricole is the entry-level product from the William Hinton Rum distillery in Madeira. After fermentation, the sugar cane juice from Madeira is distilled in a historic distillery. This rum is only transferred and not aged in barrels. The crystal-clear Rum Agricole is discreet, without missing anything. The sweetness and the aroma are harmonious in the distillate. You can hardly make out an alcoholic sharpness. For us, this white rum agricole is the ideal pouring rum, which is wonderfully suited to a simple mojito or caipi.

The most popular drink in Madeira is the "Poncha". It consists of white rum agricole, lemon juice, freshly squeezed fruit juices and sugar cane syrup. You can order it almost anywhere for 2-3 euros and of course the recipes vary enormously. It's usually pretty sweet, but there are tart versions, too. In any case, so much is drunk that there is hardly anything left of the delicious Rum Agricole from Madeira for the rest of the world :-)
