Marianne is the old Blanche from La Clandestine, which was distilled with mint instead of fennel. An exciting experience, as it also has 55% vol. was bottled.
Here is the information about the “new” Blanche:
La Clandestine Blanche is bottled with 53% vol. Right from the start, a party begins in the mouth, bringing with it a richness of flavors that is second to none, followed by a persistent slight bitterness. It is widely considered one of La Bleue's finest absinthes.
La Clandestine is distilled from a 1935 recipe using more than 10 botanicals, including the famous local vermouth. Claude-Alain bought the recipe from the creator's nephew and made it by hand for the first time in 2001 in a 12 liter pot. In 2005 it became the first moonshine absinthe to be legally distilled in Val-de-Travers, the cradle of absinthe distillation. Only natural ingredients are used for traditional, handcrafted production. A very pleasant discovery!
