The Pomeranze — the bitter (Seville) orange — is not a fruit for snacking. Its peel is tart, aromatic, intense. That is exactly what makes it the ideal raw material for a spirit with character: fruity and bitter at once, never sweet.
The fruit
What defines the bitter orange sits in the peel: essential oils of enormous density. Hiebl captures precisely that tart, fruity citrus aroma — clear, precise, without a mask of sugar.
Aroma & taste
Intense bitter orange on the nose, tart and fresh, with the typical essential peel aroma. Fruity and lively on the palate, with a fine bitterness on the finish that lingers long.
How to enjoy it
Neat at around 16–18 °C in a brandy glass — a bracing digestif. Equally interesting as an aromatic base for cocktails or a twist on classic citrus drinks.

His aim is simple to state and hard to achieve: preserve the character of a fruit in its original form and concentrate it in the glass — until aroma, colour and taste become one. Nothing added from the outside, no shortcuts. Only the best raw fruit, carefully handled.
Single-variety by conviction
The range holds over 100 different fruit brandies and liqueurs. Hiebl specialises in single-variety distillation — especially of apples and pears — so each variety keeps its own character instead of disappearing into a blend.
Craft Distillery of the Year 2026
At Craft Spirits Berlin 2026, Europe's most important competition for craft spirits, Hiebl prevailed against 120 distilleries from 17 nations to take the overall title: Craft Distillery of the Year 2026. From 47 entries came four "Best in Class" golds, plus 19 further gold, 20 silver and 8 bronze medals — on top of several earlier "Distiller of the Year" honours.
