Absinthe Blanche de Fougerolles from Devoille
Blanche de Fougerolles comes (as the name suggests) from the second French absinthe metropolis of Fougerolles. Besides Pontarlier, Fougerolles had the most absinthe producers. In some cases, barrels were even brought from Fougerolles to Pontarlier to meet demand there...
Absinthe distilled by Devoille in France
The Paul Devoille distillery was founded in Fougerolles in 1859. For some time now, Devoille has been producing absinthe again according to old recipes. Among other things, small anise, star anise, fennel, coriander, lemon balm, licorice, hyssop and of course wormwood are used. In the Blanche de Fougerolles, the individual flavors play together very nicely, with no one being dominantly in the foreground. Its 74% alcohol is barely noticeable by smell - which once again speaks for the unique quality of the ingredients. The recipe comes from the book "P. Duplais - La Fabrication des Liqueurs", which was available between 1858 and 1900.
In addition to the high-quality products from Pontarlier, this absinthe from Fougerolles is a real highlight.
